A statement from Rep. Frank R. Wolf of US on Tibet Crisis:

"I stand in solidarity with all of the friends of Tibet who today have gathered in Washington, D.C. and in cities around the globe to testify to the deepening crisis in Tibet and find common cause with the suffering people of Tibet.
You are rightly holding vigil outside of the Chinese embassy for it is the Chinese government’s brutal and repressive policies which are the source of this human rights crisis.
"The free world has been horrified by the string of self-immolations of Tibetans over the last year, including several monks and nuns. These peace-loving Tibetans have set themselves aflame in desperation at the abuses suffered by their people at the hands of the Chinese government.
I’ve been to Tibet. I’ve visited Buddhist monks and nuns in Drapchi Prison. I’ve met frightened Tibetans who quietly showed me their forbidden photos of the Dalai Lama. I am saddened by the recent loss of life but unsurprised that the people of Tibet are crying out for the world to recognize their plight and take action on their behalf.
In recent months, Western reporters trying to visit Tibet have been turned away by security forces. As many as 11 innocent Tibetans, according to some estimates, were killed when police fired into a crowd of peaceful protestors. Chinese troops have been moved into the region. Internet access has been shut down. According to the Wall Street Journal, “Lest any officials think of going soft, Tibet's official newspaper warned that leaders who fail to maintain stability would lose their jobs. A ‘thankfulness education’ campaign requires Tibetans to hang the portraits of Chinese leaders in homes.”
The stakes are high in Tibet and the Chinese government knows it. They are tightening their grip on the region.
I have urged U.S. Ambassador Gary Locke to raise the government’s repressive policies in Tibet with senior Chinese party officials and publicly use his platform to make it clear to the Tibetan people that they have a friend in the United States of America.
Furthermore, I call on President Obama, during his visit next week with Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping to publicly voice his strong concern about the current atmosphere in Tibet and the repressive policies of the Chinese government, which are directly impacting the everyday lives of Tibetans. I also urge the president to continue to push for Lhasa to be the next U.S. consulate in China.
In a Constitution Day speech, President Ronald Reagan famously described our founding documents, which enshrine base liberties, as a “covenant we have made not only with our ourselves, but with all of mankind.” We risk breaking that covenant with the people of Tibet if we do not champion their cause during this time of need."

Letter to US Ambassador to China Gary Locke

"Dear Ambassador Locke:
You have undoubtedly seen news reports of the recent wave of self-immolations of Tibetan Buddhist monks and nuns since March of this year in desperation at the abuses suffered by her people. Just last week a second nun did the same. According to the International Campaign for Tibet, she apparently called for religious freedom and the return of the Dalai Lama before setting herself aflame.
Recently the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission on which we serve held a hearing during which we heard form Dr. Lobsang Sangay with the Central Tibetan Administration and His Eminence Kyabje Kirti Rinpoche with Kirti Monasteries. Their testimony was moving and deeply disturbing. They spoke of the abuses suffered by the Tibetan people which in recent months have driven these peace-loving people to desperate forms of protest.
In light of these realities, we urge you, in your capacity as U.S. ambassador to visit Tibet. Speak with the Tibetan people and faith leaders. Press for a fact-finding mission into the Kirti monastery which has featured prominently in the recent wave of self-immolations. Raise the Chinese government’s repressive policies in Tibet with senior party officials and publicly use your platform as Ambassador to make it clear to the Tibetan people that they have a friend in the United States of America.
You are uniquely positioned to reflect American values and priorities to the Chinese people and the Government of China. In that light, it is important for you as the lead representative of the United States in China to publically declare that the Chinese government must respect the peaceful religious, political, civic, and cultural expressions of the Tibetan people. For the United States, this is both morally imperative and politically prudent
We wish you continued success as Ambassador to China and we look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Frank R. Wolf, Member of Congress
James P. McGovern, Member of Congress
Joseph R. Pitts, Member of Congress"

Excerpt from Mother Teresa's speech at 1979 Nobel Peace prize ceremony:

"I never forget an opportunity I had in visiting a home where they had all these old parents of sons and daughters who had just put them in an institution and forgotten maybe. And I went there, and I saw in that home they had everything, beautiful things, but everybody was looking towards the door. And I did not see a single one with their smile on their face. And I turned to the Sister and I asked: How is that? How is it that the people they have everything here, why are they all looking towards the door, why are they not smiling? I am so used to see the smile on our people, even the dying one smile, and she said: This is nearly every day, they are expecting, they are hoping that a son or daughter will come to visit them. They are hurt because they are forgotten, and see--this is where love comes. That poverty comes right there in our own home, even neglect of love. Maybe in our own family we have somebody who is feeling lonely, who is feeling sick, who is feeling worried, and these are difficult days for everybody. Are we there, are we there to receive them, is the mother there to receive the child?"

Excerpt from Statement of Dr. Lobsang Sangay on 53rd Tibetan National Uprising Day:

"Blessed by the historic transfer of political power from His Holiness, empowered by the mandate received from the people, and buoyed by the support and solidarity from Tibetans inside Tibet, I can say with pride and conviction that the Central Tibetan Administration legitimately represents and speaks for all six million Tibetans.
Beijing’s view that a generational change in leadership may weaken the Tibetan freedom movement has not and will never materialize.  The resiliency of the Tibetan spirit combined with a coming generation of educated Tibetans will provide dynamic leadership and sustain the movement till freedom is restored in Tibet.
If the Chinese government’s claim that Tibetans enjoy freedom and equality are true, then it should allow democratic, transparent, free and fair elections in Tibet. In the fifty-three years of Chinese occupation, no Tibetan has ever held the Party Secretary post of the so- called Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). Chinese hold majority of the decision-making positions in all branches of the government and constitute more than fifty percent of the public sector workforce. Seventy percent of the private sector enterprises are owned or operated by Chinese. Forty percent of Tibetan high school and college graduates are unemployed.
The Tibet issue concerns far more than the rights and welfare of six million Tibetans. It impacts the entire planet. The unique Tibetan culture, with its rich language, spirituality and history must be protected. The Tibetan plateau is the ‘world’s third pole’ as it contains the largest ice fields outside the two poles. Tibetan glaciers, the source of ten major rivers, affect the lives of more than 1.5 billion people. Billions of dollars worth of mineral resources are exploited annually to fuel China’s economy. Decades of logging have reduced Tibet’s pristine forest cover by half. Clearly, the management of this global common, and the Tibetan people’s traditional role as its stewards, ought to be a planetary concern.
When China invaded Tibet in 1949, it promised to usher in a ‘socialist paradise.’ In actuality Tibetans are treated as second-class citizens. When Tibetans gather peacefully and demand basic rights as outlined in the Chinese constitution, they are arrested, fired upon and killed as in the January 23-24th peaceful protests when Chinese were celebrating their new year. The Communist Party cadre members in the TAR have been ordered to prepare for a “war” against the Tibetan protestors."

Another Tibetan burns self: Now 54

Sangye Gyatso,27 has burnt himself on fire this afternoon from Amdo region of North-Eastern Tibet to protest against the Chinese repressive invasions and policies imposed in Tibet. He torched himself near a Stupa close to Dhokar monastery in Tsoe township of Kanlho, Amdo and later succumbed to the injury. The sources also say that the man leaves behind a seven year old son and a six year old daughter to face the pain of his sacrifice.
This man who self immolated today is the latest of Tibetans to burn oneself and the second person to self immolate in the last three days. After the self immolation of the Tibetan writer Gudrup in central Tibet on 4th October 2012, Sangye mounts the total number Tibetans self immolating since March 2012 to 54! From the total of 54 Tibetans, 44 of them succumbed to the injuries of the burn and lost their lives.
The heightened situation rising from inside Tibet is highly sensitive and it decides the live and death of lot more Tibetans. So, this is to urge all the individuals, groups, organisations, personalities and Governments around the world to kindly not ignore the situation and raise their voices against the Chinese government!

Some quotes from H.H. the Dalai Lama:

"World belongs to humanity, not this leader, that leader or that king or prince or religious leader. World belongs to humanity."

"I totally disagree with the view that the Tibet struggle will die, and there will be no hope for Tibet, after the Dalai Lama passes away."

"The Chinese government wants me to say that for many centuries Tibet has been part of China. Even if I make that statement, many people would just laugh. And my statement will not change past history. History is history."

"One thing I want to make clear, as far as my own rebirth is concerned, the final authority is myself and no one else, and obviously not China's Communists."

"As long as I am alive, I am fully committed to amity between Tibetans and Chinese. Otherwise there's no use."

"It is difficult to violently suppress people in the long run, as the example of the Soviet Union and the Eastern European countries has shown."

"China has to go along with world trends. That's democracy, liberty, individual freedom. China sooner or later has to go that way. It cannot go backward."

"Chinese people themselves, they really want change."

China railways record 1.44 bn passengers carried

China's railways which completed just a few years back on the highest plateau of the world has a record that it has already ferried about 1.44 billion passenger in just the first three quarters of the year which is about 4 percent up by last year. With this much of hectic railways plying, the poor Tibet prefecture which is directly linked with this railways is already diminishing fast in its population with the transfer of population! Tibetans have become minorities with Chinese people shifting to Tibet in this much of large numbers!
Another statement was found saying that the country's railways delivered 2.91 billion tonnes of good. The trains have particularly transported 1.68 billion tonnes of coal, 102.35 million tonnes of oil, 76.16 millions tonnes of grain and 68.75 million tonnes of fertilizer and pesticide.
This round figure can easily provide us an idea of how much the transport trains might be plied for the transport of mines from the Tibetan territory to China. The prime objective of constructing the railway line to Lhasa was to transport population and natural resources. They have transport extensive quantity of copper, gold and especially wood.
There is this urgent need of saving Tibet from the Chinese government that is fleecing off the naturally rich resource field of the world whose survival sustains larger part of Asia!

Tibetan Self Immolation; not a fashion in patriotism

The wave of continuous Tibetan self immolation that has been coming out of Tibetan people over the past years has perplexed the countries across the borders. The unbelievably large number of people assorting to the practice of self immolation has been something confusing initially but with larger number of people taking the step proved to be less effective! But the truth is that the pain inflicted upon the Tibetans has been extremely huge that it has become hard to imagine for the outer world!
As a Tibetan relishing the freedom of living beyond the reach of Chinese government, we are not at all satisfied with the kind of reaction shown from any part of the world to the mountain large number of Tibetans torching their bodies selflessly. The extend of pain came to such a bound that Tibetans in exile also assorted to the practice of self immolation. So it is my humble prayers to the deceased and those in pain to have their sacrifices not be in vain and reach the extend of success for the freedom to Tibet.
But now again, Tibetan intellectual, who is a writer, poet and a blogger has assorted to self immolation and passed away on the spot of practice. Gudrup though an learned member of the Tibetan society, torched his body alive for the same demands that the earlier 52 people had torched themselves! It is not a fashion of expressing one's aspirations through burning oneself that many people seem to conceive from the Tibetan because fashion is found somewhere there is freedom. Burning oneself on fire is not a joke and I can bet that no other national can find such a large number of people of sacrificing for the cause of their people through self immolation in the entire millenniums to come.
"My brothers and sisters of the land of the snows, although, looking back at our past, we have nothing but a sense of loss, anger, sadness and tears, I pray that the coming new year of the Water Dragon brings you health, success and the fulfillment of aspirations." writes Gudrup, the Tibetan writer who self immolated in Nagchu town of Central Tibet on 4th October 2012.
Now the count is 53, which is nowhere to be seem through the entire history of the world and nowhere to be imagined in the entire millennium, what will follow now? China openly refuses opening of Indian Consulate in Lhasa, Australia Investigative visit to Tibet but still the world is not unanimously waking against the open crunch of human rights and torture going on there.
Raise your voice and help save the Tibetan lives and their freedom. The Hu Jintao reign is at the dusk and most probably Xi Jingping is at the dawn and we would like request Xi not steps on the footprints stained with bloodshed and rethink with a genuine human touch about the cause of Tibet.

Wen Jiabao: "China has still a long way to go"

Ahead of retirement in the coming month, the Chinese Premier Wen has expressed his regrets of failure to implement reforms in political arena at a reception of the party diplomats held in Beijing today. Mr. Wen pointed at the resistance he faced from within the party that prevented him from implementing institutional reforms in China that includes political arena to open up the rigid one party state of Mao. While also expressed of his regrets he also spoke of his pride about the achievements in the field of economic, cultural, social as well as political advancements.
Though other party members of the state were also present at the reception, Mr. Wen was the only one who expressed the aspirations of a reformed China. Mr. Hu and Mr. Zhou were also present and they stood tied to the ideals of the primitive communist party.
However, it is nice to hear as a Tibetan that Mr. Wen stood hard on his words about the opening-up policy and make China a modern socialist, democratic and prosperous peaceful country!
Though Wen pointed that China still has a long way to get to this harmonious, advanced level of democratic country, he sternly expressed the importance of reforms.
Lets hope for the change...

How to be safe on internet...

Privacy is in your hand:

The internet has become so sophisticated that you feel as if you and you alone are just accessing with what you are doing, which is false. When you are on the internet, your personal information provided by you will be literally visible to millions of others. Without any knowledge of the sources and proper precautions, your data might be easily intercepted by any third parties. Therefore it is best not share your pictures, name, contact details, etc., without proper knowledge of security in chats, forum or any other similar platforms.

Your money is never safe on internet:

This generation has become so much dependent on the internet and being safe on internet is at your own benefit. You need to be highly cautious while sharing your financial data on the web such as credit card number, account numbers, social security numbers or passwords, PIN codes. Though online transactions have become common, it is very insecure and millions of frauds are scrawling on the web. The best option is to use offline payment but when you need to use the online payment, you can use it through reputed service providers such as paypal which guarantee your privacy and security. Besides, the basic secure module of online financial transfers is use a secure sever encryption technology and this can be checked out from the browser address bar by seeing for 'HTTPS' rather than 'HTTP'.

ONLINE WORMS: Viruses, spywares or hackers

A good anti-virus software which provides complete protection against viruses, spyware, worms, etc., is the best solution against these online threats. But it is not just enough to install the program as the bad guys on the other hand are highly skilled and up to date. Therefore, it is also important to learn about the software and learn how to use it for the best possible output and set the adjustments to the optimum settings.

Basic online security module for common people: (https)

The most common mode of internet sharing among common people who are not technically trained in the field is through the e-mails and mobile phones. But the truth is that people doing this kind of sharing may have significant role in the real life and have very important political role! So it is necessary for any commoner to be aware of the basic modules of being safe on internet when they are using it on the important matters so as to be secure from the stalkers and any sort of eavesdropping.
The most common internet communication protocol is the hyper text transfer protocol(HTTP) which is the standard internet communication protocol. But this protocol is not that much secure and the communication carried out over a computer network through this is prone to man-in-the middle attacks. So the valuable information is not anymore authentic and secret. So the advise to anyone who is sharing any kind of personal or political information on internet that is not intended to be shared to any third party is to use the services which us the communication protocol written as HTTPS which stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure. Though HTTP Secure itself is not a protocol, it is http layered with SSL/TLS protocol; which provide security over internet.
The HTTP Secure provides security from eavesdropping, tampering or theft of the client's content of communication by adding a bidirectional encryption of communication between the user and the web server and thus becomes unreadable for any third party intruders. Though HTTPS is not the complete solution of online security, it is the most standard and basic module a common man can use easily.
The HTTPS has been used for providing security for the online transactions and later used to protect the authenticity of wide range of websites and online accounts.

Mysterious Truths from Tibetan history

The traditional Tibetan world has been filled with extensive number of mysterious records in both daily and political life. The ancient history of Tibet is largely based on the cultural beliefs and religious domination. So if we look back into the records of the traditional Tibetan history today, we might find it extremely hard to believe and totally mysterious. Below are some of most popular records from the history of Tibet that are still dominant in the public:

  1. The First King of Tibet in B.C. 127th year: His Majesty the King Nyatri Tzenpo, the first king of Tibet is said to come from an Indian origin and had his hand fingers like connected like that of a duck! But it is not the mysterious part. The mysterious part is the way he is said to have been appointed to the king. There 12 bright Tibetans who met a foreigner just at the foot of a hill in eastern part of Tibet, who was an abandoned prince of an Indian emperor. When the 12 Tibetans asked the prince about where he had come from, the prince pointed up as he had then just climbed down the hill. But that time, the Tibetans seeing a different person pointing up, considered him to have come from heaven to be the King of Tibet as they were looking for a king that time! So they prepared a carriage and welcomed him as the first King of Tibet on carriage on the shoulder of 12 Tibetans from which he got the name Nyatri(Shoulder Throne)King.
  2. The invention of Tibetan script: Thonme Sambhota was one of the best ministers of 33rd king of Tibet, his majesty Songtzen Gonpo. He is said to have studied under many masters in India and later invented the Tibetan script. Though many believe him as an incarnation of the heavenly beings, the truth that he alone invented the whole Tibetan script will certainly be hard to believe for the today's world. But this is not the mysterious part I wanted to bring out here. The mysterious part is that in the process while he was creating the Tibetan script, he could not invent some alphabets at any extend of hard work. But one night in his dream, all the missing alphabets were formed in the form of examples and thus he completed the process of invention of the Tibetan script! However, he is undeniably the first scholar of Tibet and one of the most learned icon of Tibetan history.
  3. Completion of the Samye Monastic Institute Lhasa: During the reign of 37th King of Tibet, his majesty Trisong Detzen, very large number of monasteries and other scholarly institutes were built through out Tibet. One of the most famous was the Samye of Lhasa which was witnessed  as heart of philosophical exchanged in Asia that time. The mysterious part of the history lies in the process of its construction that witnessed a huge set back. The problem was with the demons in that locality. How many times the masons built the building during day, that was demolished in the night by the demons! So the king invited the lord Padmasambhava of India to Tibet to solve the problem. The result was that the Samye was built during day by humans and night by the demons! This is how it is said to have been completed.
  4. The rain of flowers in Tibet: During the 28th king of Tibet, one of the most mystifying incident is said to have been occurred, i.e., the rain of flower, brightness in the night... The incident unfolds as a prophecy from the Buddha which takes place one night when the king was resting on the roof of the palace; a rain of flowers with which it delivers some of the most precious texts of Buddhism to the hand of the king! This time is considered as the time of arrival of Buddhism in Tibet though the actual practice of Buddhism started during the reign of the 37th king of Tibet.

Tibetan Homes Foundation completes 50 years of service:

THS which might be a word of mistake for anyone, it will always remain the most reminiscent word that I can ever hear. Tibetan Homes School which is under the organisational name of Tibetan Homes Foundation is the place that shaped into the human I am today. Pioneer in the field of educating the Tibetans in India, it has elaborated its grace and elegance in the life of thousands of people in the course of its fifty years of excellent service in Tibetan community.
Founded in the year of 1962, just two years after the exiled Tibetan community took shelter in India, THF came into being in the city, Mussoorie in the then Uttar Pradesh. Though this institution started from a group of only a few people then, today it is one of the premier educational institutions in our exile community that is responsible for the welfare of more than 2500 Tibetan children! With its sprawling campus in the beautiful city of Mussoorie now in Uttarkhand, it also takes care of many helpless old aged Tibetans.
Happy valley brings me a great sense of satisfaction and it is also filled with uncountable stories of innocence and happiness. The twelve years I spent there in this institution has been the decision maker of my life.
The life in THF is something I can not find anywhere else. The way we wake up so hardly every early morning at the call of our foster parents, followed by the morning prayers and the duty calls are still so special and hard to find. The rush to the school, the whistle of Gyen Dhondup la, the rush to catch up the morning assembly all remain so fresh still today.
The classes go on so sincerely from every teacher and sometimes many students fail to pay attention go to sleep in the class when the teacher comes out to be someone not known for any sort of strict punishment. On other days, the picnics to Hathi Pawn, Kempty Fall after so much request to the teachers used to be the best way to spend the holidays and it still seems the same today.
Now that it is celebrating fifty years of successful service in our community I am extremely graced to see the history taking its form.
On this auspicious occasion, the event is going to be brightened by the presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Dr. Lobsang Sangay. The Golden Jubilee celebration of Tibetan Homes Foundation taking place between September 17 to 21 will witness the gathering of large number of its alumni from around the world.

Congratulations TIBETAN HOMES FOUNDATION and we love you...

Tibetans not safe inside as well as outside TIBET?

Here comes one of the most pathetic moments for Tibetans in the whole history. Though India has been the safest and the most reliable escape destination from the brutal invasion expedited by the Chinese over Tibetan region since 1959, some sense of insecurity has been stricken among the Tibetans dwelling in the southern region of India recently.

It has been crystal clear throughout the world about the severe condition of Tibetan lives inside Tibet after the forceful annexation by the Chinese army. The most recent cases of continuous occurrence of self immolation by the Tibetans inside Tibet has the undeniable evidence of pain and loss the fellow citizens are undergoing inside of Tibet. The policies of human genocide and exploitation of the natural resources inside Tibet by the Chinese government has imposed such a hardship in the lives of those inside Tibet that they have been enforced to cope up with a different way of life according the plans and benefits of the foreign rule! The culture, the language, practices of common people Tibetans that had been passed from generations have been on the stake and to a very great extend vulnerable to the extinction inside one's own country.
Though there have been continuous rebel against the imposition of such a foreign rule and its policies, they have lost the fight in front of the giant economy and its influence around the world. The chain of self immolation protests against them have till now been only a good appeal to the media world and have not resulted in any consolidated official support from any government so far!  Any act of disobey against the policies of the conqueror have been violently smashed with weapons despite any sort of peaceful protests and pleas. Take for instance the most recent demonstration by around 500Tibetans in Rebkong region after the reports of two self immolation protests in Ngaba. Though the whole procession was totally non-violent without any arms, they were responded with heavily armed personnel, those arrested were brutally beaten up to interrogate and so on!
Due to such severe conditions in Tibet itself, thousands of Tibetans have taken shelter outside Tibet seeking political asylum primarily in India. Though the Tibetans have been greatly cared by the Indians till now as their own citizens, Tibetans have for the first time felt little unsafe in India following the clashes in Myanmar between the Buddhists and the Muslims and in Assam between the Bodos tribe and the Muslim refugees.
However, we have been grateful to India and we believe in the secular state of India. Therefore, we are sure that India will continue its assured support and security for us Tibetans.

What is the Truth in Bangalore?

Since last two three days here in Bangalore, thousands of people from the north east region especially Assam has fled to their natives fearing the so called rumours about rise of violent assaults against these people and their look-alike.
The truth here in Bangalore despite of all the press releases and encouraging words from the government and the officials, people are all confused and extremely deterred by fear!
Though the situation is claimed to be a total rumour, but there are lots of severe incidents against the Assamese and their look-alike narrated by the people across Bangalore. Here I have tried to bring out some of incidents spread among people.
  • Though the occurrence of beatings against the target ethnic people are to a most extend true, only some of them have been reported by media, many such beatings have not been reported and though those actually occurred. From these many have succeeded in escaping from the scene while some were hurt to some extend.
  • Another dominating incident spread among the public is the case of raping against several girls in some colleges. This is said to have occurred with the advantage of the situation against the target people.
  • One of the most peculiar incident that is heard from the public is that a north east couple returning from a movie theater were striped on the road and made to go to their room nude! However the time was during night time.
  • Stabbing against a Tibetan in Mysore though became serious and widespread news, there were many such incidents said to have occurred out in Bangalore though not to that extend. Some people were attacked near ATM booths while some were when even in the moving rickshaw!
The situation though is seriously claimed from the official sides to be a total rumour, most of the North East and the look-alike students have left Bangalore following the acceptance of leave from the respective colleges while the colleges still remain working excluding only some Girls Colleges which were declared not working for sometime.
This is extremely serious from any side of view because by merely saying the situation is just a wake against rumours is not going to ensure security to anyone. People are highly exposed to this news that people with this look are brought to an extreme sideline everywhere!

Note: The views expressed above are all pertaining to what is heard from the people and not based on any press or official reports.

Bangalore and the Tibetans : Rumours or real?

Yesterday, after the extensive spread of the news about the hunt for the Assamese people in Bangalore by the Muslims and in addition to the fact of one Tibetan being stabbed in Mysore in public has panicked the Tibetan students and other look-alike fellows. It affected to such an extend that many students usually dwelling outside on their own took shelter at Tibetan Youth Hostel in Koramangala! They were frightened by the spread of the mouth that people come knocking on their doors in the night!
Though many of them are still trying to follow the usual routine, a lot of Tibetans have already returned to their settlements near by. Some colleges have already declared holidays for 10-15 days but still most of the colleges remain normal and working. Though there are many rumours spread around about beatings as well as rapes against north east and Nepalese in the city, no official report has ever been reported and the officials suggest of no any such issues threatening the livelihood of the Assamese and the look-alike people in the state.
Similarly, Tibetans usually living in Mysore for education and business purpose are all reported to have already shifted from the city to their own settlements in the fear of the wake of the violence spreading.
The dilemma among the students due to all these problems is that they have no easy choice in the hand. It is fine for those who have been declared holidays but for most of them, it is still not declared and they are struck out there. Whether to attend to the classes regularly or to remain indoors avoiding any chance of such rumours to ruin their is the big question lying in front of them.
The truth is that as many as 6000 people from Assam  and its regions have already fled from Bangalore following the so called rumours of violence against them since this Wednesday!

How Tibetans are misused to mislead Muslims through social media

Though the technological era today is considered to be a highly sophisticated and easily accessible to the information around the world, this is has also rendered threat and misconceptions. The extensive use of social media has proved to be highly threatening with the spread of simple lies created by some miscreants...
This following picture of Tibetan monks were taken during relief camp service offered by the brave Tibetans during the Yushu Earthquake in Tibet and China in 2010. But some miscreants have spread this picture has the Buddhist monks slaughtering the Muslims in Burma recently. So please don't be carried away by such pointless misconceptions.

Another lie about one of the most widespread pictures from the Tibetan community that has been misused is the picture of Tibetan hero Pawo Jampa Yeshi's self immolation in New Delhi. This picture was taken during his brave sacrifice through self immolation for the cause of Tibet but again it is heart breaking to see some people misusing this as means of creating chaos. They have used this picture to mislead the Muslim community by claiming that it was picture of a Muslim man burnt alive in Burma.
These sorts of lies are extremely painful for the Tibetans to even hear and they truly insult the honour of Tibetans, therefore we would like to request all those people behind this to stop playing with our feelings. The first kind of picture is extremely serious which may lead to a chaos in the two societies.
Please do not be carried away by the lies in the air and respect your right to know the truth.

Clarification of the misconceptions about Muslims' slaughter-letter of Myanmar ambassador-

"Dear Dr. T.A. Rahmani,
I would like to provide you the following information:-

On what happened:
On 28 May this year, a Rakhine Buddhist girl was raped and killed by three men near one of the villages in Kyaukpyu district of Rakhine State, which is bordering Bangladesh.

Through the investigation conducted by Kyaukpyu district police force, three persons, all Muslims, were exposed to be the perpetrators. They were put under protective custody in Kyaukpyu Jail on the morning of 30 May for fear of revenge from relatives of the deceased girl.

Relatives of the deceased girl and fellow villagers, about 100, went to the police station on the afternoon of 30 May and asked the police station to bring to them the three suspects. The police officers, who are Buddhists, did not allow them to enter the station compound and rejected their claim by saying that action would be taken against the three suspects in accordance with the law. This testifies to respect for law and the rule of law in the country. Unsatisfied with the response from the police officers, the relatives and fellow villagers attempted to enter the police station which compelled the police officers to fire five shots to disperse them.

On 3 June in a town called Taunggup, a group of about 300 Rakhine Buddhists attacked 10 Muslim passengers on a bus travelling to Yangon. All 10 were killed on the spot. The news on killing of 10 Muslims spread to the immediate neighbourhood and Muslims and Rakhine Buddhists in the neighbourhood attacked each other. This communal violence spread quickly to other parts of Maungtaw and then to Buthidaung, Sittway and Yathedaung townships in the Rakhine State where Rakhine Buddhists and Muslims have been living since long. The situation went out of control.

Local authorities and police were unable to control the situation due to lack of man power and facilities. Curfew was imposed by the State Government on 8 June 2012 in the areas where clashes took place. However, clashes continued and even spread out and therefore, State of Emergency was declared in Rakhine State by the Union Government on 10 June. The Defence Services was called in to control the situation and to restore peace and law and order in the state. The situation is now back to normal completely.

During the unfortunate incident, both Rakhine Buddhists and Muslims, 79 persons in total, were killed and many injured. It is totally untrue that hundreds or thousands have been killed and that those killed were Muslims. The deaths were caused by either group to each other, not by others. Houses and property worth millions of dollars were destroyed. Thousands of victims have become homeless. Both Rakhine Buddhists and Muslims suffered as a result of the lawlessness of a few.

On what the government has done and been doing:
The government formed on 6 June 2012 an Investigation Committee headed by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs to investigate all aspects of the unfortunate incident and submit a report to the President.
Action will be taken in accordance with the law against all those, without any exception, who have committed crimes or agitated others to do so. 30 Rakhine Buddhist suspects have already been detained so far.

Relief camps, 72 in total, have been set up separately for Rakhine Buddhists and Muslims. Basic needs of food, clothing and medicines of the victims have been met by the government.

In coordination with the government, UN agencies in the country, including UNHCR, UNFPA, WFP and UNOCHA, and INGOs have also been providing humanitarian assistance to the victims.

Lt. Gen. Thein Htay, Union Minister for Border Affairs and for Myanmar Industrial Development, accompanied by Mr. Vijay Nambiar, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, officials from UN agencies in Yangon led by Resident Representatives of UN agencies in Myanmar Mr. Ashok Nigam, 15 Muslim leaders from Yangon and departmental officials, visited Rakhine State recently, during which arrangements made by the government for rehabilitation and long-term aids for livelihood for the victims and for the security and the rule of law in the region have been explained to the victims. Cash, foodstuff, school uniforms, exercise books and stationary worth hundreds of thousands of dollars have been given to victims of both groups.

The Speaker of the Lower House of Myanmar Parliament accompanied by MPs representing political parties also travelled to Rakhine State. Together with the Chief Minister of Rakhine State and his cabinet members they visited the relief camps in the state and observed relief, resettlement and rehabilitation measures for the victims. The MPs donated Kyats 12.93 million, their daily allowance for three days, Union Solidarity and Development Party Kyats 20 million and the State Assembly members Kyats 2 million, for the victims.

Comment of the Embassy:
The Embassy of Myanmar sincerely hopes that you be well aware that violent clashes take place sometimes not only between different religions but even between different sects of the same religion. Whenever such ugly things happen, not only those who start but also who have nothing to do with such things suffer. The Embassy firmly believes that regardless of what religion one professes, all must live together peacefully based on respect for each other and laws of the country in which we reside. The recent clashes between Rakhine Buddhists and Muslims in the Rakhine State of our country are very unfortunate and the Embassy feels very sorry for all the victims without any reservation.

In Myanmar, Muslims are not only in Rakhine State but also elsewhere as those who profess other religions in the country. Buddhist pagodas and monasteries, Christian churches, Islamic mosques and Hindu temples exist side by side in many cities/towns/localities of the country. This can happen because of the deeply rooted religious tolerance in the country.

Fake photos or false information have been spread with an ill intention to agitate Muslims around the world by attempting to create the impression that Muslims are being discriminated or killed in Myanmar and that such acts are state sponsored. Such are unsubstantiated accusations. Please do not be misled by them.

I would like to request you to kindly share this information with your colleagues.

I wish you and your colleagues all the best.

With warm regards

Zin Yaw

Hopes and wishes if TIBET is free now...

Though the main population of Tibet is still inside Tibet, a large number of Tibetans has been able to escape from the control of the foreign invader, China and see asylum in other democratically free countries like India. It is obvious that the larger population of Tibet residing within the control of China are suffering from various atrocities and discrimination in their homeland. The brutality of human genocide policy in Tibet has rendered them minorities in their own home!
However, a lot of Tibetans have survived the extremely risky escape through the Himalayas and lives in the free nations fighting for the justice and freedom. But with the passage of Time, the life outside Tibet has become an awkwardly long sojourn which led to the change of a generation and still the fight for the country long way to go!
This morning, when I went through the media information, the hot topic weaving through the Tibetan community was that a Tibetan athlete taking part in the London Olympics had won a bronze medal in race game. I was electrified with joy that a Tibetan has also stood shoulder to shoulder at such a stage,
However, then again, there were pouring of comments from Tibetans remarking their disappointments over such a talented citizen representing the rival country; if there was a Tibetan team in the Olympics there might have been many more medals, etc. Though this is simply a wish of a lay man same as us but when I went through the words again, there was the pain and an ever expounding wish hidden in us Tibetans.
Similarly, this midnight, the facebook status of some my friends were congratulating the winners of the DID Lilltle Masters Season 2 winner and the finale team followed by a simple hope and a simple wish to set up a similar platform for the young Tibetan dancing masters! This is where the pain comes out, however long you stay out of your native, however comfortably you are placed in a free foreign world, neither you can become one of them nor you can forget your home!
Every Tibetan has lots and lots of hopes and wishes if Tibet is freed now because most of Tibetans today has never lived or seen a free Tibet.
So is it that the struggle of Tibetan people will go on and on no matter how long it takes and how far it goes.

Weird History for the world in neglecting TIBET

Today a history is about to be written in a totally weird manner in this world. Innocence can not be held responsible with all these great propagandas and mediocracies. Though the fellow mates of this world in Tibet are blowing away their lives in order to highlight the atrocities and human genocide carried out in a peaceful country still colonised by the greatest economy of the world! For this weird turn of history, the whole generation of human race existing in this era will be held responsible because of their indifference, selfishness and greed because you can not imagine a fire without heat!

Who else would be mad enough to burn their body alive than the Tibetans who do it not in madness but for a greater cause of its countryman!
The report of Tibetans going for self immolation is ceaseless so is the pain they are going through. If the whole world is ready to pass out this crisis, this would  be the blunder of the century. Which in turn will inspire the aspiring communists, dictators as well as the terror groups. Hence a century is welcoming a foreseen tragedy! Besides, it is the first time in the whole history of the world where such chain of self immolation is taking place!
Everywhere else in the world, the olympics is the attraction of every conscience at the moment. It was four years before during the same olympics held in Beijing that attracted controversies including the Tibet issue. However, it remains the same issue yet again with another olympics coming out in play. Whether we call this fate or anything, some part of the world, like Tibet is still suffering under the rule of a colonialist brutally while others are relishing the air of freedom.
Who would not be interested any sort of name and fame by representing their country at an international stage? Same as everyone else is taking part in the olympics with immense pride and honour to raise the name and the honour of their fellow countrymen, the Tibetans are meeting the same purpose though in a more fed-up manner by burning themselves alive!
Do they not have the desire to live as any human would do? Obviously they do! But when the privileges of decent life is no longer an option, they collect the strength to endure the of one burning alive to raise the issue for the cause of greater good. The most recent practice of Tibetan self immolation include monk Lobsang Tsultrim of Kirti Monastry in Ngaba and Dolkar, a young nun from Tsoe monastry in eastern Tibet! With lost Dolkar's life on 7th August, the death toll of Tibetans from self immolation reaches to a wooing 37!

Branded Terrorists that harm no others: Tibetan Self Immolators

Two more young Tibetans self immolates and this time in the middle of Tibetan capital, Lhasa this Sunday. The Jokhang Temple which is one surrounded by Barkhor market; which is the busiest and hottest spot in Lhasa for all sorts of visitors ranging from tourists to pilgrims to the merchants. This twin self immolation on 27th May took place in the midst of this busy spot amid of tight security by the police and military scrutiny.
Tobgye Tseten from Gansu province passed away from the practice and Dargye from Abha is hospitalized and they account to the first reaction from the capital to the self immolation practices that has been taking place in other parts of the country.
Often the word terrorism is defined as any sort of activities or behaviors used as a means of coercion to achieve ones' demand by threatening the world with the use of violence against the public and common people. But during the last several months we have seen a new definition for the word terrorism that is nearly going to replace the term self immolation, as far as the Chinese officials are concerned!
While the Tibetans and the people across the world are going through the trauma of losing any other man through the practice of self immolation inside and outside of Tibet, the official statements from the Chinese government so easily started calling the actions a form of Terrorism and has never stated any willingness to see into the issue! So, if such form of government of is governing a very large proportion of the world population, the world is at furious threat!
Following the protests in the form of self immolation against the absence of religious rights, human rights and repression, what we are seeing is even tighter repression, banning of religious activities during the most important times of religious significance, etc!

Where is Tibet...

Where is Tibet today…

Traditionally and historically so well known and enriched part of the world, Tibet, is at its one of the most tragic stages today. The history about Tibet has been in record since as early as 7th century onwards with the advent of the Tibetan script and the rise of its empire across the whole Asian continent. Though Tibet is considered as one of the humblest and one of the most religious countries in the world today, it has a mighty history that conquered almost whole Asia!
Despite the fact that this country, which one of the most important part of the world has a fully convincing historical background of its independent status, Tibet is today one of the hottest issues of freedom and independence today. When there is the question where is Tibet, there are lots of answers depending how people perceive about Tibet and how Tibet is.

Where is Tibet geographically?

Tibet is situated sandwiched between the two most powerful nuclear giants of Asia, i.e., India and China which is elevated above sea level to about 6500 feet. Topography of Tibetan region is in the form of a plateau, in fact, the highest plateau in the world. More interestingly, its borders are aligned by the ranges of the majestic Himalayas that make you feel like the God itself wanted this part of the world to be protected from the atrocities outside! Though the world at large little innocent about the geographical significance of this land, it the largest reserve of fresh water source in the world after the two poles and hence also called as the Third Pole of the world. Since this region is under severe exploitation in terms of both its people and natural resources, the impact will be shown throughout the world.'

Where is Tibet for the Tibetans?

Since early 1959, more than 150 thousand Tibetans have fled from their motherland Tibet and took refugee first in India and later in different parts of the world. The Tibetan spiritual and political head, the Dalai Lama has always been reverence of the Tibetans and he has been the Tibetans since many centuries. The above incident happened as a result of the Dalai Lama’s escape from Tibet that sparked the escaped of his followers. For the Tibetans, Tibet is a mission and there is a consolidated regional acclamation that does not exist on the world map due to the Chinese conquering it since 1950s and its so allegations of it being a part of it. But for these Tibetans, Tibet is in their minds passing it from generation to generation, hoping to return back from the Diaspora. Though the original escapades from the land of Tibet in the diaspora are fading away with time, Tibet is still carried forward with the fact that a free Tibet will prevail as the truth is that Tibet has always been a free nation before 1950s.
For those Tibetans inside Tibet, there Tibet lies in a hope that their countrymen in the Diaspora will return back with glory and relive a free Tibet very soon. For them, Tibet is there in the patience, pain and suffering they face in front of the foreign rule in their home.

Where is Tibet for the Chinese?

The Chinese political system is so rigid and hard lined that the larger part of their population is kept in illusion of what is happening in and outside of China! The fact is that the broadcasting through televisions and internet, other communication systems are directly censored by the government and the flow of an original message is highly impractical. For them, Tibet is just an ethnic group within the People’s Republic of China and for them; the Tibetans are trying to separate from the main land and creating chaos in the civil society! While the original situation is that Tibetans are fighting for their basic human rights that are denied by the ruling party in view of destroying the cultural and the race of Tibet! Besides, it is also a mist for the Chinese layman that chaos was actually being created by the Republic armies and not the Tibetans that is known by the whole world!

Cracks in the Unity of Beijing Central Politburo Committee

Tibetans have seen a ray of hope...
Recently, some cracks were seen in one of the most rigid and secretly run political bureaus in the world. This committee of political giant is run in so much privacy that most people from around the world as well as from within the China are unaware of its mechanism of flow of power! But from the recent incidents such as that of the dismissals of one of its standing committee members, Bo Xilai during a season of leadership transition or the dissimilar ideologies expressed by the top committee members, etc., has revealed the fragility of this hard lined Communist Party of China.

The Beijing government or the Government of Peoples' Republic of China which is primarily based on the principle of Maoism is such a communist government whose political responsibilities are overseen by a 24 membered Central Politburo Committee. Even more interesting fact is that the real power of the government is enjoyed by only 9 members of the committee who are entitled to the Standing Member of the Central Politburo Committee! These 9 heads of1.3 billion people are the practical heads of the country who are responsible for all the internal and external affairs of the country. They hold in unit or in shares the power in the affairs of the country such as police, military, secret police, commerce, development, external relations, etc. Besides, all the 24 members the politburo hold significant regional positions too.

This Autumn brings with it the politically sensitive period, i.e., leadership transition or the transfer of power in the politburo committee. Since 2008, the unrest shown in Tibetan communities as well as so called other internal disparities inside and outside of China such as the recent fleeing of the blind activist Mr. Chen to the US embassy has shamed Beijing around the world.

Long time hard lined member of the committee Mr. Zhou Yongkang for instance has expressed his fear of the growing influence of western ideals or modern practical thoughts such as democracy and had insisted in boycotting such chains of thoughts. However, the reaction was clearly seen at the incident of the dismissal of Bo Xilai where he was the only standing committee to fight in favour of Mr. Bo this April.

Mr. Premier, Wen Jiabao for instance had expressed his wishes for a change in the political situation in China earlier this year. At the verge of his political career, he had expressed his regrets over his failure in resolving various issues. He sternly expressed his grievances over the endless chain of Tibetans self immolation and expressed his hope for a quick resolution.

These can be seen  as a positive hope for us Tibetans but it is also an undeniable fact that people like Mr. Zhou is of the most powerful leaders in China and controls some of the most crucial sections of the governance such as the Police, Secret Police, the courts, the giant network of informants as well as military authorities!
Besides, there are agreeable amount of evidence and reports citing the government overseeing these insecurities, they have sanctioned much higher budget than that of the published amount!

What happens if your are a Tibetan today...

Today, the world is more open, it is showing up all the options for its people. Communication accesses are well built while at the same time people are candid all the way to becoming mates from an overnight hangout! May be it is what is the change of time and the change of behaviors according to the theory of evolution. With this kind of candidness and outspoken world, there is a peculiarity in being a Tibetan weaving through the borders around the world.

If you are a Tibetan today, you have no name. If you are a Tibetan today, you will become someone else and that will be for granted. If you are a Tibetan today, you will neither have any country and nor any place to share the 'home sweet home' with your family. Though such challenging is being Tibetan today, the fellow Tibetans are not stopping to be it!

May be it is not the fault of the people of the world that Tibetans does not have a name today but the fact is that we have become minority everywhere else, even in Tibet too! May be it is too hard to pronounce the Tibetan names and remember as the people taking out the roll calls and name calls aren't Tibetans themselves. Most of the times, you will be a Tenzin to be a Tibetan and most people take that for granted! As far as the college life is concerned, you will be marked by Tenzin1, Tenzin2 and so on or by some serial numbers! Though is not some sort of physical torture, this is obviously a pain striking reality of being a Tibetan in diaspora.

Then there is the obvious outspoken mouth of the world, 'hey Japanese?'... then for the negative response comes, 'Korean?' and again comes, 'Nepalese?' but there is never the option 'Tibetan?'. Besides, the option as Tibetan does not exist at all because if you correct them with, 'I am a Tibetan from Tibet', there comes the obvious smiling response, 'Oh... Chinese... ching chong...' and there is no further dialogue because they have a Tibet in China! How much this hurts when truth itself does not exist at all and the lie has become an obvious truth.
However, at some good occasions, often people recognize you because they know Dalai Lama and to this extend, you get some identity.

If you are Tibetan today, it is very challenging to fare this world. You do not a place to return every evening because you neither have a family waiting there nor any warm home at all! All you have will be somewhere else similarly wishing to be united to one's home every evening!

But Tibetans are not stopping with these hurdles while they are always facing it more strongly so that their challenges could be solved and return to their 'Home Sweet Home' to celebrate their Losar with the whole family just like Hindus celebrate Diwali and the Christian celebrate Christmas!
